The Dodge Charger vs. the Chevy Impala

At Hawk Auto we’re known as one of the largest used car dealerships in Illinois, but we handle many different makes and models, both new and used, and two of our best sellers are the Dodge Charger and the Chevy Impala.

Dodge Charger

For many, the term “family sedan” probably conjures up images of a four-door vehicle that’s both reliable and reliably dull and bland. But trust, us there’s nothing dull and bland about the Dodge Charger. In fact, it’s safe to say that the Charger is America’s only four-door muscle car, fierce in both design and performance, yet roomy enough to carry five comfortably around Chicagoland.

Dodge has a legacy of performance, and the Dodge Charger continues that lineage with its combination of power and efficiency.

The Charger’s standard engine is a 3.5L Pentastar® V6 that generates 300 HP. The Charger’s available engines include a 5.7L HEMI V8, 392 HEMI V8, and the Supercharged 6.2L HEMI SRT® Hellcat V8 that cranks out a whopping 707 HP. This beauty also uncorks 650 lb-ft of torque, making the 2019 Dodge Charger SRT® Hellcat the most powerful five-seat production car ever!

While the Charger gives you some serious strength, its sleek, bold design will turn heads wherever you go, while its interior is crafted for driver and passenger comfort. From the driver’s seat to the back seat, the Charger provides both high-performance comfort and road-ready confidence with 104.7 cubic feet of passenger space.

Finally, the Charger is loaded with plenty of the latest automotive technology, including a 7-inch customizable Driver Information Digital Cluster Display, Adaptive Cruise Control and Push Button Start, among many others.

Truly, with its combination of classic muscle and modern technology, you can rule the road when you’re behind the wheel of a Dodge Charger.

Chevy Impala

For those wanting ample passenger and truck space, there’s the Chevy Impala. With its athletic and sophisticated design, the Impala is a full-sized car that announces your arrival without you having to say a word.

While the Impala doesn’t have the Charger’s muscle, it’s still a quietly powerful automobile. Standard power for the Impala’s is provided by a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that gives you an EPA estimated MPG of 22 city/29 highway. Also available is a 3.5L V6 that generates 305 HP with an EPA estimated MPG of 18 city/28 highway.

Chevy engineers designed the Impala to impress wherever you drive it, and that impression continues in the spacious cabin that seats five comfortably and features premium chrome and woodgrain accents.

The Impala’s ride is not only comfortable, it’s internet ready as well. In your Impala, the internet’s along for the ride with an available built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi. And with the Impala’s standard 8-inch diagonal Chevrolet Infotainment System, you can send and receive texts, play your favorite music and do a lot more.

And for good measure, you can surround yourself and your family with a host of available safety features including Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert and Forward Automatic Braking.

If you’re in the market for a family sedan, you can’t go wrong with either the Dodge Charger or Chevy Impala. So come by Hawk Auto and let one of our sales representatives help you find the car that best meets your needs.
