Chevy Malibu

Chevy Malibu Illinois

For a midsize sedan, the Chevy Malibu is hard to beat for the money. Outside, the Malibu has a sleek and stylish streamlined look, from the textured Chevy emblem out front all the way back to the tucked-away chrome exhaust pipes. Inside the Malibu seats five comfortably with plenty of legroom for both adults and children.

The Malibu has a six-speed automatic transmission and a choice of two engines, a1.5L 4-cylinder or a 2.0L 4-cylinder. Either gives you great gas mileage, up to 36 MPG/highway.

For added economy, there’s also the Chevy Malibu Hybrid that can give you up to 43 MPG/highway.

Convenience and safety

For those long road trips, the Malibu has plenty of USB ports and cupholders, both front and rear, along with an easy-to-use, 8-inch Mylink touch screen that fits compactly into the dash with no protrusion. The touch screen also doubles as the rear-view camera screen.

For entertainment, the Malibu comes with nine Bose speakers distributed throughout the interior.

The Malibu is equipped not only with the standard, front airbags but also with side airbags to protect passengers in the rear seat, a really great feature.

Other safety features include electronic stability control, lane keep assist, blind side zone alert, rear cross traffic alert and front collision alert, all designed to keep you and your passengers as safe as possible. Overall, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives the Malibu a 5-star rating for the safety of passengers and driver.

In sum, if you’re looking for a sporty, roomy and efficient family sedan, the Chevy Malibu could well be the car for you.

Ford Fusion

Ford Fusion IL

No matter which way you look at it, the Ford Fusion stands out. Beautiful styling, fuel efficiency, passenger comfort, and the latest technology and safety features, the Ford Fusion has it all.

Performance and safety

The 2018 Fusion has three EcoBoost® engines to choose from. These include the 1.5L with standard Auto Start-Stop Technology, the 2.0L, and for the Fusion V6 Sport, the 2.7L V6. All three of these great Ford engines combine three technologies – turbocharging, direct injection, and twin independent variable cam timing (TI-VCT) – to improve both performance and efficiency. Each engine provides direct fuel injection, with piston cooling jets for added durability.

For safety, the Fusion also features continuously controlled damping (CCD) that uses advanced sensors that constantly monitor the vehicle’s suspension motion, body movement, steering and braking to adjust the suspension damping in mere milliseconds to keep the body of the vehicle smoothly on track. And for those nagging potholes that always crop up, Fusion has a pothole mitigation system within its standard CCD suspension, providing some protection against those jarring impacts that can lead to costly wheel and tire repairs.

Fusion Hybrid

For those wanting fuel efficiency, the Fusion Hybrid has an EPA-estimated rating of 43 MPG city/41 MPG highway. The Fusion’s 2.0L I-4 Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine and electric motor deliver 188 combined horsepower and allows you to travel up to 85 mph in the all-electric mode.

Finally, when you figure in the Fusion’s other features, such as its Enhanced Active Park Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control that adapts to slowing traffic, we believe the Ford Fusion is one of the finest economy sedans on the road today.

To test drive either of these great sedans come by any one of Hawk Auto’s nine locations today.
