Cadillac XT6 vs Mazda CX-9

The Cadillac XT6 and Mazda CX-9 both come with the practicality, space, and hauling capacity of a larger SUV in a slightly smaller package than you might traditionally expect. It’s important to note, however, that at least for the time being the Cadillac XT6 is a brand new model so you likely won’t find too many used Cadillac dealers in Illinois selling these as used cars. However, if you are to find one, the place to go is Hawk Auto, a used Cadillac dealer in Illinois.

Cadillac XT6

Cadillac XT6

This elegant SUV crossover is a brand new addition to Cadillac’s iconic line of luxury vehicles. The XT6 will be slightly smaller and quicker than you’d expect an Escalade to be but it’ll still have the spacious interior that is characteristic of Cadillac’s Escalade.

Sporting Cadillac’s classic blend of elegance and style, the Cadillac XT6 delivers an aesthetically pleasing look that disguises its fairly large body size. You’ll find that the XT6’s design was inspired by the Cadillac Escalade, yet the XT6 maintains its own distinct style.

The interior of the XT6 offers all the bells and whistles you’d expect and much more. It offers different seat layouts that accommodate either seven or eight passengers. Every model has three rows. In addition to that, the XT6 model has a touchscreen system, Wi-Fi, and smartphone charging capability. You can also expect the latest in driver-assistance including blind-spot monitoring, emergency braking, and lane assist.

All models of the XT6 come standard with a V6 engine which has a fuel economy of 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. You’ll also have the option to choose between an all-wheel-drive model and a front-wheel-drive model.

Mazda CX-9

Mazda CX-9

The CX-9 has been around for several years so you’ll have no problem finding certified, pre-owned models at used Cadillac dealers in Illinois, like the one at Hawk Auto.

If you’ve looked at many Mazdas—regardless of the model—it’s hard to find one that doesn’t have a fun, sporty design like the CX-9. It has a sweeping rear end, an elongated hood, and a steep windshield that gives the CX-9 a distinctive, memorable look, especially when compared to other midsize SUVs.

With an SUV, you should expect the size of the car to translate into a roomy, luxurious interior. In that regard, the CX-9 does not disappoint. This vehicle comes with three rows that have plenty of room to seat as many as 7 people. Even better, the seats in the second row recline and can be adjusted forwards and back.

Mazda is the “zoom-zoom” brand after all. So, as you’d expect, the CX-9 lives up to its name when it comes to performance. The engine provides around 220 horsepower, depending on the model year, and has a fuel economy of 20 to 22 mpg in the city and 26 to 28 mpg on the highway.

We don’t envy anyone who has to choose between these two great cars. The good news is, you can’t go wrong, especially if you come down to Hawk Auto for a test drive!
